A heavy chewer doesn't need an indestructible toy — that doesn't exist. They need toys designed for sustained chewing, made of safer materials, and rotated frequently.
What to look for
- Rubber toys you can't dent with a fingernail
- Toys that pass the "thumb test" — if a thumb leaves no mark, neither will most teeth
- Hollow toys you can stuff with food for variety
What to avoid
Cooked bones, antlers harder than the teeth themselves, and any toy with pieces that could splinter or be swallowed whole.
Rotate 3–4 toys at a time so each one feels new again. Boredom is what drives most destruction.
